A short trip from Shimshal on a beautiful day to an even more beautiful, glaringly white glacier. I was joined by two new friends from Japan and re-learned an important lesson after taking a little silly detour.

Set in one of the most beautiful areas in Pakistan, the 50 km long road to and from Shimshal is narrow with big drop-offs on one side and the side of a mountain on the other. It's breathtaking and in places quite scary...

A bus ride across a frozen pass, assassination attempts galore, demonstrations and a semi-enforced curfew, all in the span of just a few days in Northern Pakistan. And because any of that wasn't enough already, I then had to deal with Pakistani bureaucracy at its finest...
